Update

I thought I'd update everyone on what has happened recently. Firstly we are on about 1700 views so we are getting closer to the message in a bottle! I have only received one message for it so far though so keep them coming! The bottle is all ready.

(Opalines message for the bottle)

I also bought loads of cards in the shop the other day. They are all British themed (of course ;))and were so cheap from the works. They were buy one get one free and £1.99 each! Steal!

(The boxes of cards)

I've also received several small gifts recently :D I don't actually expect to receive any gifts so its amazing when I do! Thanks so much!

(A postcard, two bookmarks, a toy soldier, a bracelet and a panda sweet)

I'm going away to Spain next week so I wont be able to post anything that week. Sorry in advance!

Why I've been away for a while...

I haven't posted much recently, sorry! I've been so busy doing things and going away I just haven't found the time!

I have also received so many letters and they are my top priority.

Thanks so much for the letters! I'm currently not accepting any new pen pals but I will carry one writing as soon as possible to all my current pen pals.

I'm away in Spain next week but when I get back its business as usual ;D Sorry for being so slow!

London Postcards

I haven't actually been to London in ages but loads of people were sending me postcards from where they lived and I couldn't find any in Southampton! So I decided I'd look online instead, and look what I found!

They had loads of postcards on sale at http://www.clicksouvenirs.com/ so I bought loads! They have loads of cheap British souvenirs, it's great!

Look forward to a postcard in your letters soon!

Shopping

Today I went shopping to look for coat hangers... fun I know. I went into TKmaxx because I thought that would be a great place to buy coat hangers and guess what... It was! But that's not what I'm posting about.

There is always loads of cool stuff at Tkmaxx but I never really thought to look for stationary till now.

Here's what I bought. I got two letter sets one with British themed paper and envelopes and one with Cath Kidston style papers. They are both really great quality with loads of paper and envelopes inside it's great. I also bought two jiffy bag style padded envelopes. They are really cute and great for sending special things on special occasions. I also bought a photo album and a travel journal because they were about £4 each and I couldn't resist!

I'm not made of money so I always spend my money wisely. I spent £21 on all these things today which I would say is a total steal seeing as I've seen similar photo albums for that price.

I totally recommend you visit TKmaxx if you live in the UK. I think there is an equivalent of  TJmaxx in the USA but I'm not 100% sure. So get out there and find yourself a bargain!

I also got too hoodies in the post which was also really exciting!

Package from America!

Today I got a lovely envelope full of goodies from Rachel from USA.

She send me some lovely teas to try so I can do another American tea challenge! She also sent some moisturiser, a ticket from bungee jumping and a postcard. Her letters are so colourful and cool, I'm jealous!

Thanks Rachel!

Parcel from Germany :D

I got a parcel in the post today from Isabelle from Germany! It was so exciting!

Look at all this cool stuff! I was so surprised! All the things are really pretty and cute and all the confetti (which ended up all over the floor) made a really nice touch.

One of the gifts was this little iPhone eraser. I've seen these before but never bought one so thank you so much Isabelle for that!

There was also this lolly-pop which looks too nice to eat! I'm not sure whether to keep it or eat it! I always face these dilemmas when people send me food. I'm sure I'll give in and eat it in the end!

She also sent this little card which says live your dream. It's so cute! I love it. There was also a highlighter which you can see in the first photo but I forgot to take an individual picture of it... oops!

Thank you so much for all this Isabelle! I will try and find some things to send you!

Olympics Envelopes

So yesterday I felt the need to make some interesting envelopes and, with the Olympics looming, I thought what better logo to draw than the Olympics logo itself!

So they aren't the most amazing things ever but I think they are cool! I sent 4 out today and I will send the last one out tomorrow so keep checking your post boxes!

(My Olympic stamps match!)

This is also a great way to save money on stationary. Nothing beats something unique after all!

There's only 16 days left until the Olympics so expect more Olympics stuff soon!

Recent letters!

So far this week I have received 3 letters.
(Cool batman top)

The first letter I received was from Sarah from Germany. Sarah is really important to me as a pen pal. She lives in the same area in Germany as my Dad grew up in, and regularly sends me photos so I can see what its like. I've never actually got the chance to visit where he grew up.

(Cute cat paper from Sarah)

When me and Sarah first started to write to each other we didn't know she was from the same area as my dad. However as we started writing, and she started mentioning places I recognised, it soon became apparent that there was some connection. It was a really amazing discovery and I could never have imagined it happening. I hope to carry on writing to her long into the future.

(Snapshot of Sarahs letter)

My next letter was from Makenna from USA. Makenna is a new pen pal of mine and I always find it interesting writing the first few letters and getting to know the person. I can't wait to exchange more letters with her.

(Makennas letter header)

My final letter so far was from Opaline from France. Opaline is another one of my original pen pals and we write quite frequently. We exchanged a few letters in French to start with but I had to stop for a while because I started to speak French instead of Spanish in my Spanish lessons... oops! I hope we can write in French again in the future.

Lost letters

It's been a while, I'm sorry.

I am back though and it may be midnight but I am going to post something!

So recently a few of my Pen Pals have told me that my letters I sent months ago haven't arrived. Now I know the postal service in some countries isn't that great but still, they aren't that bad. So here's some tips to make sure your letter doesn't get lost:

  • Make sure you know exactly how much you have to pay to send the letter. If it is slightly heavier than normal it might be more expensive. Also to send to someone else's country is more than it is to send to your own country. If you don't pay the right amount your letter will either be returned to sender or just disposed of.
  • Always add a return address. My pen pals will know I'm terrible at remembering to do this. To try and help me remember I made some fun address stickers to add to the envelopes. If you don't add a return address and your letter is refused for any reason they will just dispose the letter so be careful!
There's only two tips there but that's all you need to remember really. Taking the letter to the post office directly, rather than putting it into a post box, could also prevent risk of them losing it and it prevents the risk of you paying too much or too little for the letter too.

I hope that helps! And I promise I will add some interesting stuff soon!
